TP-105 rail anchor, some times called anti creeper is now available.
It will fit code 125, 138 and 148 rail. It is not designed to work as
the prototype because a separate etching would have to me made for each
rail base even though the rail size is described as the same size.
An example is the difference between the width of the base of steel and
nickel silver code 148 rail. The long side tab allow the placement of a
little glue to hold the anchor up to the base of the rail. Check your
prototype as some railroads place the big part of the anchor on the
outside of the rail, another may place it on the inside. Just be
consistent in how you apply them. Some standards call for the anchors a
specified number of ties before and after switch points. Other
standards have to do with one way traffic and density of traffic. Just
doing a few feet in a good viewing area will impress your visitors.
10 anchors of prototype shape are provided to lay around the road bed
or put in a junk pile. Enough to do about 20 inches $15.00
If you want to do more, 5 etchings for $60.00, a savings of $15.00. |
